5 Things To Expect From Me and This Newsletter in 2023

This newsletter will be a deep dive into the lessons I learn in 2023.

5 Things You Might Not Know About Me

The idea here?

The better you know me - the more you can learn from my journey, the more you can relate to my struggles and the more value you get from being here ❤️

To do this, I'm going to answer 5 prompts (What, Who, When, Where, Why) with the first thing that comes to mind as I type - Here goes:

What

What I'm doing this year - leaning into myself.

The past 6 months have taught me that this life shit is short (cliche yes, but also true).

I didn't need a wake-up call - I was happy doing what I was doing.

I did however get a "Hey - do more of what you like MFer, this shit ain't forever".

This year is about building what I love and ruthlessly discarding what doesn't serve me.

Who

My name is Thomas Lawrence.

I'm 30 years old.

I'm an extroverted introvert who likes running long distances, biking longer distances, swimming occasionally and sharing my lessons with others through writing and coaching.

When

In 3 years' time:

  • I will be working a maximum of 4-hours per day on The Running Cohort.

That's it right now - that's the focus.

I'll also run in some cool places during that time ;)

Where

From Perth, Western Australia - where my beautiful girlfriend and I will be buying our first home together this year.

The mine site I will be frequenting this year:

Why

I run because it provides me with thought, but also space.

I run because it taught me to not only tolerate myself - but love myself.

I run because I enjoy doing hard shit, but I enjoy controlling what hard shit I do.

I run because it's the daily, mental warfare that provides me with peace.

I run, not only to learn about life but, how to navigate it.

I write because I want you to enjoy all of the above.

PS:

I have a favour to ask:
